Psychology Personal Statement

You will be able to socialise with young people from across the country who share your ambitions and interests. The value of such an experience cannot be emphasised enough, as this will be for many, the first and only opportunity to encounter university life before they finally commit themselves to a course and place of study.

The conference presentations have been grouped with the emphasis on Clinical Psychology in Programme 1 and Social Psychology in Programme 2. Those sessions which will have relevance for all attending will be offered in the evening session which is common to both programmes, as is the overnight stay giving students the chance to sample life in a university hall. Students may attend either or both programmes, and taken together, they offer a range of presentations that will both inform and inspire.

The Exploring Psychology conference offers an insight into careers and university courses in the fascinating field of psychology. Specifically the purpose of this conference is to demonstrate the scope and diversity of the subjects available. Students may have to decide on whether to specialise in Clinical Psychology or in Social Psychology, and this decision may have implications for the university they apply to or the course they select.
